Torquay High Tide Festival is a community festival.
It is supported by the Surf Coast Shire, Torquay Foreshore and many community groups and volunteers. The festival is held in the streets, public spaces and some indoor venues throughout Torquay. It occurs on the first weekend in December with lead up activities in the preceding weeks.
The festival is held to celebrate the local culture and residents’ commitment to living in this beautiful coastal area.

The festival was recognised in a VicHealth “Health Promotion through Participation” Award in 2001.
Regular features include: Grand parade, Community Theatre, concerts, market, children’s activities (including Billy Cart Race and locally devised performances), community arts activities and workshops “Seaweed” Installation Art Exhibition, and Film Festival.
